Day 6 is Veteran’s Day! How convenient, should make my new things I’m grateful for super easy. Let’s march right to it!
3 New Things I Am Grateful For
1. I am grateful for my father, Paul Kragthorpe Sr. I’m grateful to have followed in my father’s footsteps on this Veteran’s Day. He has always been supportive of me, and he was especially supportive while I was in the Air Force. Very proud to call him my dad!
2. I am grateful for having known, been friends with, and served with the late Jacob Livingston. It’s hard to find anyone who was ever even in Jake’s presence who didn’t smile when we was around. He had an amazing ability to make everyone happier.
He was one of the most selfless people I ever met. Always coming to my room to get me up and going to the gym, or to the pool, or just to hang out. He received so many awards while serving that most of us were jealous of him. We all wanted to be him. He was an amazing Airman, and an amazing friend. We miss you Jake!
3. I am grateful for all the people and experiences I made in the Air Force. The Air Force without a doubt made me who I am today. The people I met, the places I got to visit, all so valuable in how I live my life.
I’m also grateful that I’m able to stay in touch with those friends I made by way of Facebook. Here’s to you Levon Smith, Jason Hight, Kris Jozefiak, David Willett, Robert Fish, Robert Bingham, Steve Myers, Robert Hardesty, Derek Fore, Kevin Buryn, Chris Pack, Chris Rieland, Chris Masson, Dan Richardson, Dom Pantalia, Erik Alford, Jason Padgett, Jeremy Stanger, Jon Maas, Kendrick “Black Ass” Butler, Rich Scott, Sam Thomas, Thomas Florez, Will Rudgers, and Steve Persell. Think that’s everyone in my friends list on Facebook anyway.
I have pictures with most of these people, but it would take too long to compile them, so I’ll just give you the one they gave me as a going away ‘gift’.
The nice caption they put with this picture was “You’re gay!” How thoughtful of them!
1 Positive Experience in the Past 24 Hours
My positive experience was going through old military photos and remembering all the fun I had in the Air Force.
Another positive experience tonight was doing domino’s with Eston. Learned how to do a domino wall, which is totally freaking sweet! Check it out:
Exercise
Copying my exercise from yesterday. 60 jumping jacks, 35 sit-ups, and 25 push ups today.
Meditate
I have sent a message to the meditation guru my friend recommended. Heard nothing back yet so I’m going with my 15 minute attempt again.
Random Act of Kindness
Since we’re doing this on Veteran’s Day, let’s do a poem to my dad. Here it is:
Dad,
I’m getting the hang
Of this poetry thang
Have a dad like you saying
That’s my son? Dang!But let’s get serious
Today is Veteran’s Day
And I’m sure proud to say
We both served our Country, YAY!But you also served your kids
Kept us clothed, kept us fed.
And made sure we all had
A very comfortable bed.3 verses is pretty much my max. Hope it put a smile on your face tho. Happy Veteran’s Day, I love you!!!
