21 Day Happiness Challenge – Day 17

21 Day Happiness Advantage Challenge - Day 17

Here’s day seventeen, nothing rhymes with seventeen, except maybe all words that rhyme with teen… You think you’re so smart! Let’s get on with it:

3 New Things I Am Grateful For

1. I am grateful for Walmart. Everyday low prices, and stuff and things. I’m mostly grateful that we have one so close to us.

2. I am grateful for the headspace app. It’s really helped me figure out the meditating thing for this challenge. Thanks to Chris Lister for showing it to me.

3. I am grateful for bread. Can you imagine, just try it, eating a sandwich or a cheeseburger without bread?! It would suck. Let’s admit it. I for one am grateful for it.

1 Positive Experience in the Past 24 Hours

My positive experience today is a nice chat I had with Jacob Livingston’s mother. Facebook didn’t let me know but she had reached out to me after my day 6 post where I mentioned him. I replied back to her today and we had a good chat talking about Jake today. It was very nice. Made me think about him some more and remember some good times with him. Here’s a couple more photos I have of him that I shared with her.

Exercise

Today was rest day from weights, so I did the following, which I saw somewhere on the internets:

1 minute of pretend jumping rope (I don’t have one, had to improvise).
50 jumping jacks
20 squats
10 lunges
10 hip extensions
20 leg swings
20 side leg swings
15 push ups
10 spiderman steps
20 sit-ups

Exercise Meme

I did this exercise session while watching the Vikings cause it was easy to release my frustrations during the game.

Meditate

Did the day 3 of the mindspace app today. It was a good deal like the rest of the days, but still nice to be walked through it.

Hold My Hand

I google’d “hold my hand meme” and that image came up, so I used it =)

Random Act of Kindness

I just have to post my poem to Jake’s mom today. She once again reminded me of how awesome he was. So here it is:

Brenda,

Your son he was amazing
You clearly raised him well
God needed him for something
That we all can tell

We wish he still was with us
He made everyone smile
He always took his own time
To go the extra mile

Brenda, we met just a few times
Once would have been enough
To know that Jake had a great mom
I know it’s been real rough.

It was nice chatting with you today about Jake! We all miss him and no one forgets him. This thanksgiving we’ll all be thankful we met him!

Wrapping Up Day 17

That’s it for day 17. Be sure to read yesterday’s post if you missed it » 21 Day Happiness Challenge – Day 16.
